Product Features & Use

Is the bag completely waterproof?

No, it’s not a dry bag — but it’s built to handle wet conditions

The Cape is made from weather-resistant materials that repel water and are easy to clean, inside and out. The interior features a PVC lining and a dual-layer base to help keep your gear dry, even if you drop it in the mud. The dedicated shoe compartment keeps wet or dirty gear separate from the clean stuff — because no one wants muddy boots mixed in with fresh clothes.

Can I remove or adjust the internal dividers?

All dividers are fully removable, giving you flexibility in two key ways: First, you can collapse the bag flat for easy storage. Second, you can free up space or reconfigure the layout to suit your setup.

What materials is the bag made from?

Materials That Hold Up — Wherever You Drop It

The base is built from double-layered 900D heavy-duty polyester canvas with a PVC lining, designed to repel water and keep your gear clean and dry — even when dropped on cold, wet ground. The main body uses single-layer 900D polyester canvas with a PVC lining, making it easy to wipe clean and resistant to moisture.

 

We’ve paired this with heavy-duty nylon straps, metal clips, reinforced stitching where it counts, and hard-wearing zips designed to go the distance.

 

Because of these rugged materials, your Cape may arrive with some creasing or a ‘new gear’ smell after shipping. Both are normal, fade quickly, and don’t affect performance — they’re simply signs of the tough fabrics chosen to handle life in the wild.

Can it fit in the back of a 4WD or a camper?

Yes — The Cape is designed to fit perfectly in the back of a 4WD or Camper. It’s sized to stack neatly alongside your swag, fridge, or fit in a camper or caravan, and can be strapped in with a seatbelt to keep it secure on your backseat when you are on rough tracks. Whether you're packing for a weekend or a longer trip, it’s built to support your setup — not just ride along.

Where do you ship?

We currently offer free shipping across Australia. 

Need it faster? Express shipping can be arranged at an additional cost — just get in touch and we’ll sort it out.

How long will my order take to arrive?

The Cape is currently available as a pre-order product. Stock is in production now and expected to arrive in Australia in October. Orders placed today will be shipped as soon as stock lands — we’ll keep you updated along the way, and you can reach out anytime for an update.

Can I track my order?

You’ll receive tracking info the moment your order is dispatched. If anything changes, we’ll let you know — that’s part of our Founder’s Promise.

Shipping Options?

Can I choose how my bag is delivered?

Yes — we offer a few delivery options so you can choose what suits you best:

Standard Shipping (Free, Default Option):
All bags are shipped in heavy-duty AusPost satchels. This keeps shipping flat-rate anywhere in Australia and protects the bag during transit. Most customers rip it open and start using The Cape straight away.

Boxed Delivery (+$15 or +$35 for Express):
If you prefer your Cape delivered in a cardboard box for a more traditional unboxing, you can select this option at checkout.

Express Shipping (+$20):
Express delivery is available on in-stock items only (not pre-orders). Please note that express can’t speed up the production timeline — it simply means faster shipping once the bag is in our warehouse which we are happy to organise for you.

Returns & Exchanges

What’s your return policy?

We want you to love your gear — and we stand by what we make.

Pre-Order Returns (Before Shipping)

Changed your mind before your bag ships? No worries. You can cancel your pre-order anytime for a full refund. Just send us an email at support@voortrekka.com.au and we’ll sort it out, no stress.

Returns After Delivery

If you’re not happy with your bag once it arrives, you can return it within 30 days of receiving it — unused and in original condition — for a full refund. You’ll just need to cover return shipping. We’ll process your refund as soon as we receive the item back.

Warranty & Faults

If there’s a manufacturing fault, we’ll repair or replace it — simple as that. We’re building gear to last, and we’ll stand by that promise.

Can I swap it for a different colour?

Absolutely — Before delivery is best (subject to availability). 

After delivery?  - As long as your bag hasn’t been used and is still in its original condition, we’re happy to exchange it for a different colour (subject to availability). Just get in touch within 30 days of receiving your order, and we’ll walk you through the process.

You’ll just need to cover return shipping, and we’ll handle the rest.

What if my item is damaged or faulty?

Our Guarantee

We stand by the quality of every Voortrekka bag — and if something isn’t right, we’ll make it right. If your bag arrives genuinely damaged or with a manufacturing fault, contact us at support@voortrekka.com.au within 7 days of receiving it. Please include a photo of the issue and your order number — and we’ll sort it fast, whether that means a replacement, repair, or refund.

 

Because of the heavy-duty liner and the way The Cape is compressed for shipping, some creasing or light surface marks can be expected on arrival. These are normal, fade with use, and don’t affect performance or durability.

We don’t offer automated gift cards (yet), but we’re more than happy to help you set up a custom gift email for someone special.
